Private Padel Court
- Court Installation

Status

Fully Stabilized & Operational

Timeline:

4 Days

Scope:

1 Indoor Panoramic Court

Location:

England, United Kingdom

The Challenge

A newly opened commercial padel court that couldn't open. The club had already lost several months of revenue by the time we were called in.

Three things were wrong, and all three needed to be fixed before the court was safe to play on.

Structural columns out of alignment

The frame columns had drifted from vertical. That kind of misalignment puts continuous stress on tempered glass. We put the probability of spontaneous shattering at 90% if left unaddressed.

Factory U-channels protruding into the play zone

The bottom glass holders that came with the court's factory build extended several millimeters too far into the playing area. At low ball trajectories, they were physically in the way — disrupting bounce and creating a hazard.

Turf seams that were never properly bonded

The artificial turf panels hadn't been glued at the seams. Over time, sand worked its way into the gaps and destroyed the surface elasticity. The result: dead spots across the court where the ball simply wouldn't bounce correctly.

Diagnostic Findings

Days 3–4: Glass reinstallation and turf seaming

Glass panels were rehung with calibrated clearances. New high-durability turf went down and every seam was bonded with hot-melt polyurethane, the kind of bond that holds under sand-fill compression and doesn't open up over time.

Day 2: Frame modification and column realignment

This was the engineering problem nobody had solved before us: the factory U-channels had to go. We removed them and retrofitted the frame base with custom low-profile steel channels that sit flush with the playing envelope. Structural columns were brought back to true vertical using laser levels.

Court Restoration

Day 1: Full deconstruction

Complete removal of the turf and all panoramic glass panels. Done in one day, no material damage.

Technical Solutions

Club opened immediately after handoff

The facility went from a liability to a fully operational court in four days. The delayed opening finally happened.

Zero dead spots

Post-installation testing confirmed consistent bounce across the entire surface. No seam failures, no soft spots.

Ball rebound fully restored

The custom low-profile channels solved the obstruction problem completely. The transition between floor, glass, and frame is now flush, no interference with ball trajectory at any angle.

The Outcome

Court Restoration

“Ah wow - Ben has repeatedly said you’ve been brilliant Alex. So well deserved.”
